Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System – Rave Review!

By Angela — June 23, 2012

I’m not easily impressed when it comes to mascaras. For some reason, my lashes do not read the ads. They do not understand most “no clump” formulas and they certainly don’t behave when told to lengthen. But, when Too Faced Cosmetics sent over their newest creation, I was intrigued. I’ve tried 2 step systems before and I’m not a fan of the primer/mascara combo. It’s not for me. Too many steps, too much time working out clumps and trying to coax my lashes into a presentable position.

This, however, is something new. What it is (according to Sephora’s website): “A three-step lash extension system that includes an activating mascara base and top coat and Flexistretch™ nylon lash fibers.”  The ads do go on a bit longer about the effects you will acheive and there are of course, the unbelievably fake looking yet ever present ad campaign photos that never depict what an actual human’s lashes ever look like. I didn’t read any of it. I didn’t compare my mere mortal lashes to the girl on the box with amazon fringe. I just decided to try it blindly, and this is what I experienced. Even though this is a 2 part / 3 step system, because the steps are simple and the formula goes on like butter, it’s not time consuming at all. My lashes were devilishly long, unclumpy, believable looking, thicker looking and at the end of the day it was easy to remove. Because this is not a waterproof formula I did have some movement, but not too bad and no flaking! I’m not sure how this formula would hold up on humid hot days or long dance-filled nights, but I certainly did look and feel quite glam while running errands.

Verdict: You need it!

Pros:

Dramatically lengthens lashes without clumping, easy to use, easy to remove and makes you feel like a million bucks!

Does not contain: Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Phthalates, GMOs, Triclosan

Beautiful packaging

Cons:

Some movement throughout the day & pricy at $35

I've only ever tried lash primers a couple times, and not with good results, as they tended to create more clumps than anything, at least for my lashes...but maybe I should give it another go?...

Oh no! I hadn't heard that and I haven't had issues. I wonder what's in it that is causing a reaction?

If you like a more natural look and you hate clumps, try the Covergirly Lash Blast Fusion mascara. It is amazing and looks so natural. It's featured in my favorites post on my blog. xo

Definitely intriguing review. I'm thinking of buying one. Although I really don't trust mascaras really. The clumps are a bother to me. :)

Maybe you can get a hold of a sample of it, or if you are near a Sephora they can demo it for you. You can always return it to Sephora if it doesn't work for you. I think it's definitely worth a try! xo

This sounds like the same system that Tarte has. I love the Tarte one. Eventhough it's pretty pricey, they use a lot of natural ingredients an it works! This looks like it's slightly less pricey so I'd be willing to give it a whirl.

Angela, one of the makeup girls at Sephora used this on me one day and it really does work! I don't know why I haven't bought my own yet, but thank you for reminding me! I love this new mascara and I'm running out to buy my own tomorrow :) Thanks for the review!
