OMG! I don’t often (scratch that - I never use this expression), but when I first saw the sneak peak photos of MAC’s Holiday 2012 Limited Edition Gift Sets, I nearly hyperventilated. OK, maybe that’s a slight dramatization, but they are in one word, amazing!

I’m excited that these sets are so different from the collections being released by others this Holiday Season. And although some of the colors we’ve seen before, the whimsical packaging is truly unique and I haven’t viewed a collection this sweetly packaged by anyone in a long time. I don’t have all of the product information at this time, but here is what I can tell you:

This collection is set for release in the United States November 6th and the International launch date is yet to be announced, but will also be in November.

Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palettes

MAC will be releasing 3 gorgeously packaged eyeshadow palettes in pink, orange and green color combinations.

The pink palette will include the colors: Taupeless, Satin Taupe (a classic and one of my all time favorite MAC colors) , Love Spice, Spellcaster & Black Slip. (includes a travel size eyeshadow brush)

The orange palette will include: Glamour Light, Retrospeck, Honesty, Cognac & Sketch (includes a travel size eyeshadow brush)

The green palette will include: Blonde Mink, Magical Mist, Brun, Enviable & Smut (includes a travel size eyeshadow brush)

Limited Edition Face, Eyes & Lip Palettes

There will also be 3 Face, Eyes & Lip Palettes each containing one each of a mattifying powder, eyeshadow and lipstick; everything you need for a quick touchup!

As if that is not enough palette euphoria for you, there will also be 3 limited edition face palettes including 1 powder shade, 2 lip colors and 3 eyeshadows as well as a double ended #275/#316 brush

There will be 2 lip gift sets packaged in vintage coin purse style leopard print cosmetic bags. Each set will include one each of a cremesheen gloss, lipstick, mini lip liner and fashion gloss raging in two color combinations of pinks and oranges

Also packaged in the same vintage leopard print cosmetic bags will be 3 eye gift sets. Each set will include one each of the Opulash mascara, a black eyeliner, a travel size #275 eyeshadow brush and a duo eyeshadow.

This extensive gift set collection also includes 3 gloss sets packaged in adorable mini hat boxes. I haven’t been able to gather information on all of the gloss sets yet, but two of the sets will contain the following colors:

These 12 pieces honor each sign of the zodiac and are embellished with a cooridinating birth stone clasp. Mrs. Estée Lauder, fragrance innovator and artist, introduced her first solid perfume compact collection in 1967.

Since then, each new year has brought a new collection of magnificent hand-crafted compacts filled with Estée Lauder solid perfumes and pressed powder.

Estée Lauder collectible compacts are hand-crafted by a team of master craftsmen schooled in the fine art of jewelry making.

Each compact design begins as a solid block of pewter, which is sculpted into a master-an exact likeness of the approved pattern.

From the master, a mold is created, and molten metal is poured into the mold to create a casting.

Castings are hand-cleaned and polished with three different buffing wheels, refining the surface to a high luster.

Then they are plated, a three-step process of dipping into various metals. This ensures that each tiny work of art will retain its durability and glossy finish throughout its lifetime.

The final compacts are hand-assembled, enameled and many are hand-set with Austrian crystal stones-sometimes as many as four hundred. Each compact is carefully inspected before being filled with solid perfume or pressed powder.

I am lusting over the new limited edition Dior Gran Bal Christmas Holiday Winter Collection set for release this holiday season 2012. The belle of the ball for me would be the artfully luxe nail polish and lipstick collections. The packaging is truly unique and that always gets my heart racing. As promised, here is an update on the October Limited Edition Marilyn Monroe Collection for MAC!  The North American Launch Date is October 4th 2012 and the International launch date has yet to be announced.
